The smiling relaxation technique is a good way to relax your body-mind. You do this by physically smiling and smiling from your heart centre. You then allow your inner glowing smile to radiate peace and calm to your entire body-mind. You then move your attention from head to feet, smiling and letting go off all tensions along the way. Breathing in tranquility and breathing out tensions.
This smiling practice could also be used during our other meditational practices, when we feel tension within our minds and body. We could use this technique for a couple of minutes and then return to the object of our meditation.
